Fort George (located near Canadian Niagara Falls) stands on opposite side of the river from the American Fort Niagara. The British built Fort George in the end of 18th century to guard the strategic mouth of Niagara River. Surrounded by palisade and ditch it contains mostly wooden structures like bastions and blockhouses.
