About 40% of all known chameleon species live on Madagascar; Ranomafana National Park is one of the best places to see them. These lizards are well known for its ability to change the colors of their skin. Different shades express the mood of the individual. The less known fact about chameleons is that they can also narrow or expand their body size. This is to help them to hide or scare predators. Chameleons developed unusual ways of protection because they are extremely slow in movement and are unable simply run away when danger appears.
