There are even sandcastles in New York City and they are standing right on the street. Actually there was one huge castle shaped in sand in Financial District in July and August 2013. Matt Long, sand sculptor created 17 foot tall wonderland-like castle with walls, towers, arches, gates, stairs, rivers, and waterfalls. While Matt was working on his project I asked him if he is not worried about heavy rain that may come any day and damage all his work. “Rain makes no harm”, he answered “while building my sand sculptures I spray the surface with water. When it dries it makes it strong enough to withstand even heavy downpour”. Several times I watched the progress of his work. I must admit that this is true; MattÂ’s sculpture survived several heavy summer rain storms.
