World Trade Center in lower Manhattan in New York City was a complex of seven buildings with characteristic 110-story twin towers. Designed by Japanese architect, WTC was opened in the early 1970s. This business center contained thousands of offices, big shopping center, restaurants, chapels, underground parking and subway stations. More than 40,000 people worked here every day. On September 11 2001, two towers became a target of terrorist attack. All seven buildings of WTC collapsed. That day, the Manhattan skyline changed.
