The Tudor-style castle was built by an American financier Howard Gould. Hempstead House overlooking the Long Island Sound, NY served as a summer residence. The building has a facade of granite and Indiana limestone. Inside the foyer magnificent theatre organ illustrate the extraordinary lifestyle of 1920’s and 1930’s. The pipes visible on the walls however only have a decorative function, the music is heard through specially designed openings in the floors.
