With a large supply of coffee beans from local plantations in the Boquete area, we were ready to hit the road. It was close to the border with Costa Rica. Border formalities took us "only" 50 minutes. We were back in the southern Costa Rica, the area where many of the stone spheres are found. On the way, we decided to visit one more archaeological site. There are many spheres in the Finca 6 Museum. Most of the them were confiscated after previous looting. The original positions and arrangements of the spheres remain largely unknown. There is no unequivocal hypothesis as to the purpose of the stone spheres. They could represent supernatural world, be a symbol of status or a manifestation of power. I have personally concluded that the relative ease of transporting the spheres from one place to another may suggest that in the past they could also be used as a money, like the rai stones on the island of Yap in Micronesia.
For another break in the trip, we found an amazing house nested the green hills. This is an exceptional design by the Formafatal studio from Prague, Czechia, a gem of the modern architecture.
