To the Center of the Continent
To the Center of the Continent - Expedition Map Adelaide

The legendary Australian Red Centre is characterized by an extraordinary landscape, but above all it a center of the Aboriginal culture. The first humans arrived to Australia 65,000 years ago. All aboriginal people today are decedents of these ancient travelers. Without contact with other cultures, the aboriginal believes and rituals have changed little for thousands of years. Their living culture is the oldest in the world. Australia is the last of lands for Europeans, only because apart from Antarctica, it was the last continent to be explored.

This is the expedition to the geographical center of the Australian continent, the land of the indigenous Australians. We will follow the old dirt roads mapped by the first European explorers. Through 4x4 tracks we want to explore the Outback, see the early colonization efforts, and most importantly visit the aboriginal places and learn about their culture.

Preparations for the expedition:

The main challenge is to take from home everything you need. Renting a 4x4 camper is the easiest part. The rental company provides the basics, but if you travel independently, you need to take a lot more things with you. You have to think about flashlights, a coffee maker, insect repellent, a broom, tire repair kit, etc., etc.
