It was hard to leave the quiet refuge we had just discovered. However, it is time to continue our journey home. We left in the late afternoon and drove directly to Camping Laguna Mia on the outskirts of Acapulco. The next day we drove through a populous resort town that is reputed to be the most dangerous city in Mexico.

Mexico is the mountains country. As we turned inland away from the Pacific, we climbed to great altitude in no time. The landscape quickly changed from a boring dry land into a beautiful mountain pine forest. The air temperature dropped significantly too. We stayed for the night at Parador Turistico El Mirador in a small Indian village of Anguahuan in the vicinity of the ParĂcutin volcano.
