This one of the finest collections of historical carriages in the world. In the Lisbon’s Coach Museum, we can find carriages from all over Western Europe, often used during state visits and important ceremonies. There is one used by Pope Clement XI and a coach for Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Portugal in the 1957. Coach of Filipe II is the oldest one on display. It was used in 1619 when king traveled from Madrid to Lisbon. The journey lasted over 2 months.
