Czechia stands in the very center of Europe. This central European country is the “heart of Europe”. Czechia reportedly has the highest density of castles in all of Europe and Czechs drink the most beer per capita of any nation in the world.
During the 74 years of Czechoslovakia's existence as a single state, the historical links of the Slovaks with the Kingdom of Hungary and the Czechs with the Austrian Empire played a role in keeping the two groups apart. In 1993, Czechoslovakia split into two separate states, Czechia and Slovakia.
