Port Wine, named after the city of Porto, is produced in the Douro Valley, Portugal. It is a fortified wine, meaning that the fermentation process is stopped at some point by adding grape spirit. This leaves a sweet taste and increases the alcohol content. Most Port Wines are typical dessert wines.
