The village of Zalipie in Poland is known for a local folk custom of painting the cottages. Unfortunately, "painted cottages" are a rarity now. Once, the whole village contained local decorative motifs. Currently, there are only a few wooden cottages left, and folk motifs appear sporadically on the façades of modern architecture. This modernization is on the verge of kitsch. We left Zalipie disappointed, there is nothing to recommend here.
