En Gedi to oaza na brzegu Morza Martwego, na wschodnim krańcu Pustyni Judejskiej, w pobliżu Masady w Izraelu. Ze swą niezwykłą tropikalną roślinnością, strumieniami i kilkoma wodospadami, zielona oaza jest kontrastem dla jałowej pustyni, która ją otacza. Będąc tam przeszliśmy jednym łatwym szlakiem, który prowadzi do Wodospadu Dawida. Był to bardzo przyjemny spacer w dolinie z widokiem na Morze Martwe.
Streams flowing in En Gedi are fed by rainwater from the mountains in the Judean Desert. Water seeps under the surface and flows underground towards the east. Underground rivers flow to the surface near the reserve. Through waterfalls and streams, fresh water used to feed the Dead Sea in the past, but now it is used entirely by a local kibbutz.
