The Archbishop's Palace in Kroměříž has been the seat of the bishops and archbishops of Olomouc for over seven centuries. It is also a prince residence, as the bishops had secular authority given by Czech kings and bore the titles of Prince of Moravia. The palace served representative functions. Hosted here, among others were Polish King Sigismund I the Old, Tsar Alexander III and Emperor Franz Joseph.
