The royal temple of Raja Mengwi called Pura Taman Ayun is one of the most attractive temples in Bali. It is boarded by water canals and is surrounded by wooded parkland with numerous ponds. The temple has traditional Balinese architectural design that includes three separated courtyards and many pagoda-like tired structures called meru. The third and most holy courtyard is the place where the most important shrines are located.
Mengwi Town streets in the vicinity of this temple were the place of traditional Balinese royal cremation in 2010.
