Silesia is a region of Poland with a particularly large number of castles and palaces. There are ruins of strongholds built centuries ago by the Silesian Piasts, as well as magnificent palaces built by wealthy industrialists in the 18th and 19th centuries. They all have a similar history, a period of glory and a time when they were plundered, burned, destroyed and fell into ruin. However, each of the historical buildings has retained its own distinctive character. Many of them have regained their former beauty. However, those that still remain in ruins are no less interesting.
