The graves in the cliff in Suaya (Sulawesi, Indonesia) are the burial place of kings of Sangalla and their families. The tau tau wooden figures are dressed in the traditional Toraja costumes and are placed at the niches cut in the rock face. At the foot of the cliff a small building houses old, rather dilapidated remains of coffins with visible human bones. They are probably from the time when Torajans were not buried in rock crypts but in very beautifully decorated coffins placed in the caves and caverns.
